What are the restrictions when uploading photos?
You are the photographer and the owner of the photo. No exceptions. JPG files only. Photos will be resized to work with our Flash Module. Clear crisp images. Professionally presented with good lighting and color. Snapshot type photos will probably not be approved. Photos must NOT be explicit in nature. We accept mainly landscape, scenery and tourist attractions of high quality.

Under what conditions are my photos offered?
It should be noted, in addition to the premium priced postcards you are submitting your photos for, The Perfect Postcard LLC also offers on its site, free postcards and downloadable postcards. This does not apply to your photos. Your images are safe and protected under the copyright of www.theperfectpostcard.com and may be offered as premium postcards that incur a sale price. Your photos are NOT offered as downloadable or printable options.

Do I need Model Releases for my photos?
Yes. As original owner of your photo you agree to indemnify www.theperfectpostcards.com from any copyright or personal infringement that can be caused by your photo.

Can I have people or crowds in the photos without a Model Release?
Yes, as long as they are not recognizable, otherwise you need a Model Release.

Can buildings or homes be photographed legally?
Yes, as long as the photo is taken from a publicly accessible place and you are not breaching any privacy laws. However you cannot photograph people in the building or home or in any way that invades their privacy. If possible, it's best to have a Property Release stating the owner's permission to take and use the photo.

Do I lose my rights to the photos after I've uploaded them?
No. You do not lose the copyright or ownership to your photos, but you do agree to allow www.theperfectpostcards.com or any subsidiary websites to use your photos as postcards and/or marketing material, in which your name or website will be visibly displayed.

How can I remove an image from the database?
Make a request through the Contact Us page stating the reasons why. But please remember that by uploading a photo, you have agreed to let us use the photo indefinitely based on our discretion. However if we get a request to remove a photo, we will comply with your request, but please bear in mind that the photo may have already been used by site visitors as an online postcard.

How long does it take to have my photos approved and viewable on the site?
Normally 4 to 7 days depending on the amount of other submissions at that time.

Will people be allowed to use the postcards for private use?
Absolutely not. Site visitors will agree not to use the postcards for anything other than its original intention as an online postcard. No exceptions.

Can I upload any photos that have been photo-manipulated?
No. However there are always exceptions to the rule. Some digital manipulations that are clean and nicely done will be accepted.
